Why Workday applications are slow
Workday applications run over several pages, and every employer has its own copy of the same form. You end up typing your name, contact details and work history again and again.
Much of the form is not plain text boxes. Country, State and Phone Device Type are list buttons, and “How did you hear about us”, Field of Study and Skills are search prompts you have to open, search and pick from.
A mis-click in one of those lists is easy to miss until you reach the review page.
What RankResume fills on Workday
Click Autofill on a Workday application page and the extension works through the fields on that page.
- Your name, email, phone and location from your resume.
- Country and State: it opens Workday’s list, picks the matching row and checks the button shows your choice.
- Phone Device Type, Degree and questionnaire answers that are list buttons.
- “How did you hear about us” and Field of Study: it searches the prompt and picks the match, never just the first result.
- Skills: it adds the skills from your resume one by one, up to 10, and checks each one shows as a pill.
- The questions your resume can answer, in the questionnaire pages.
If Workday picks the wrong result for a search prompt, the extension takes it back with the pill’s “x” and checks it is gone. It never clicks Save and Continue or Submit.
Before you autofill, open the job post for a free ATS match score (5 a day), and let AI tailor your resume and cover letter to the job in seconds. It fills your name and contact details, your dropdowns and the questions your resume can answer, then tells you what it filled and what still needs you.

Workday autofill: common questions
Is there a free Workday autofill extension?
Yes. RankResume’s Chrome extension is free to install, and Autofill is free for 10 forms a day (Pro raises that to 100). It also gives you a free ATS match score, 5 a day.
How do I autofill a Workday application?
Install the extension, open the Workday application page, choose your resume and click Autofill. It fills your details, picks your Country and State from Workday’s lists, searches the prompts and tells you what it filled and what still needs you. You check it and continue yourself.
Does Workday application autofill work on the dropdowns?
Yes. Workday’s Country, State and similar fields are list buttons, and the extension opens each list, picks the matching row and reads the button back to confirm. Search prompts like Field of Study and Skills are searched and checked the same way.
Does it create my Workday account or submit the application?
No. You sign in and open the application yourself, and you press Workday’s own buttons. RankResume fills the form in front of you, never ticks a consent or terms box and never changes an answer already on the form.
What about questions like visa sponsorship or notice period?
It asks you right there, because only you know. You can let it remember your answer on this device, so you are not asked again on the next application.
Can it tailor my resume to the Workday job too?
Yes. Open the job post and RankResume gives you a free ATS match score, then AI tailors your resume and cover letter to that job in seconds. Autofill then uses the tailored resume.
